SKOOK TRIP REPORT

So we went to skook for the 4th, and you never can tell how it is going to be. I mean how many people will be in the eddy and how the wave will be. I knew the tides were going to be around 15 knots(That is big). I herd Tube Steak was kickin at around that level and i had never surfed that wave so i was kind of curious to see what it would look like. I had seen it before and wanted to surf it but never got up the courage, or thought i had a boat that could stick to it.

THE FRONT WAVE
The front wave was the usual big, super fun,big blunt, big helix. big all moves.

TUBE STEAK WAVE
This is one of the sweetest waves i have ever surfed. it is big, bad, and hauling ass.The curl is so cool to go out on and ride. The pile is about 12 feet tall, steep and super wide.I only had about 2.5 hours to surf the wave before someone's skirt blew and we had to go down the inlet and drag him out.
I need to go and spend about two of three days surfing this wave. It gives skook a whole new outlook for those big tide days. This wave is sick
The power this wave has makes you think about just how big you can really go. The lip on the green is calling for someone to go and throw a air screw off of it. The air would be huge.

The off the water fun
Michele and I showed up at Skook and there was no good camping spots left. We always camp when we go on road trips. so we decided to stay at a lodge this time and it was really really cool. Here is a pic of me sitting in the massage hot tub just outside our room on the lake. Rob is the host of the house and a very nice guy with a very nice place sitting on North Lake.If you want to have a really good skook trip stay at robs place. Check out his web site at A Lake Side Retreat
There is a new guy giving boat rides up from the wave for a good price. If you here a kayaker saying it is a good price then you know it cant be that much. Any how if you are heading up and would like a ride out from the wave give Mason Saunders a call at 604-883-0470 or 604-740-6325 or drop him a e-mail at sn3039@sunshine.net
