Make sure to call ahead on all pool
date and times, as they will occasionally change due to facility
events.
All of these pools are in Beaverton
Beaverton Swim Center
- This pool is located right next to Beaverton High School. It
is a fairly small facility, but the mid week availability makes
it easy to find the time to take the beginning boater in the evening.
Located at 12850 SW 3rd Ave., it is basically two blocks South
of the Dairy Queen on Farmington Rd. Take 217 to Farmington, head
West, turn left just before DQ, go two blocks, and the swim center
is on the right. (503) 644-1111 Hours are Wednesday 9:30-10:30
pm, and pool usage cost is either $2.00 or $3.00 depending on
if you have a Tualatin Hills Rec card or not, plus a $3.00 boat
fee.
Sunset Swim Center
(503)644-9770 This pool is right behind Sunset High School, and sort of across
the street from Home Depot. This is a small facility, but it works!
Call for dates and times open for kayakers. Take 26 West to Murray
Blvd. Turn N., and then take the first left on the corner by Home
Depot. 13707 NW Science Park Dr
.
Walker Aquatic Facility
The 50-meter pool here is one of the best places around. Located
directly across from Fred Meyer, on 157th, the main facility is
hard to miss. Easiest parking is on the South side of the complex.
Boats enter on the “fire exit only” doors at the south
end of the aquatic center. While the address is15707 SW Walker Rd.,
the main entrance is actually on 157th. Heading West on Walker,
one entrance is just before 157th, on your right. Another entrance
to the South side lot is about 200 yards from the 157th & Walker
light, on 157th. You can also park on the N. parking area, but it’s
a bit of a hike with your boat. Currently the pool is open for kayaks
and SCUBA on Sundays from 10:00 AM –Noon. Pool usage cost
is either $2.00 or $3.00 depending on if you have a Tualatin Hills
Rec card or not, plus a $3.00 boat fee. (503) 645-7454
