Editors Note:I met Mack at Bob's Hole on a cold and rainy winters day about three years ago. We were all thinking "Who the hell is this joker?". Then he went out on the front wave and the side wave and surfed them like he owned them. Right then you could see he was "in it" It, being the thing we all love to do. SURF. Since the day we met, we have both grown as humans and good friends. If you meet Mack you will make a good friend and see why they say "never judge a book by it's cover". Mack is covered with tat's from head to toe, has leathered skin, a kind of serious look on his face, and a heart of gold.

People ask me all the time if i am the inventor of river surfing. NO. i
say that "the crew in munich are the pioneers in terms of proving that
an industry will develop around the sport. they have a surf shop and
surfboard maker along with an organization all dedicated to river
surfing, they even have contests. I am the first true explorer, the first
person from the surfing world to cross over to the rivers completely and i
am the first person to realize(though the playboating community)that
there are millions of these waves and that one day people will river surf
all over the world. so i formed the WRSA to promote the sport. in terms
of searching for river waves no other surfing purist has come close to
what i have done in the past 4 years.
