Northwest Play Spots -- A work in progress. For the last couple of years I have been trying to accumulate as much information as possible on the play spots of the Northwest. The goal of my project is to find out where all the best play in the Northwest is and when it is in (and get there to paddle it). I am gathering this information together into an guide, so that we all might know about a few more play spots and catch that far away epic play spot when it is in. Take any information here with a grain of salt, this is a work in progress and the information could be inaccurate and the rivers features can change from year to year. The rivers of the Northwest have many dangers which can appear without any notice so be careful out there on the river. This information is solely focused on where the play spots are and when they are in and assumes that anyone using that information is a strong and competent paddler who is aware of river hazards. The first chunk of information about the play spots, that I am posting covers Northern Oregon and Southern Washington. Expect periodic updates and new play spots to be added on a regular basis as information is confirmed and pictures collected through out the Winter of 2003/2004. By Spring 2004 look for information on play spots to expand to cover Washington and Western Idaho. The ultimate goal is to extend the information to cover from Lower B.C. to Northern California to Western Montana. Northwest Play Spots
