Wenatchee River

The Wenatchee River is home to what most people consider Washington's best waves and holes. Rodeo Hole and Drunkards Drop are internationally famous (OK, so just the Canucks know so far). The Wenatchee Valley in the spring is a beautiful place with the Stuart Range's icy peaks dominating the skyline and blossoming fruit trees lining the highways. Add to this scenery warm, if not hot weather, clear blue sky and throw in some great play spots and you have what feels like a tropical vacation to paddlers from West of the Cascades.

The Wenatchee is the place to paddle in the late Spring and Early Summer. Surf most of the day and hang out and catch some rays at the riverside park in Cashmere and let your gear dry. Once the sun gets low in the sky, drive upstream into Leavenworth (Bavarian themed village) and drink German beer and eat bratwurst or whatever German food you like. This is one of best places to spend a weekend paddling I can think of and you don't even have to be a play boater to enjoy it. There are some great creeks right close at hand. What more could you ask for?
