Description:

Granny's is best known as a big green wave and frequent site of the Wenatchee Rodeo. Granny's is a big and fast wave the turns into to a wave hole at higher levels before greening out again. It can be a very satisfying place to play especially when it forms a wave hole, since it gives up a lot of moves including small air blunts, loops and cartwheels. Granny's can be tricky though since its open green shoulders are often too easily passed leading to flush and walk back upstream. The hot and sunny spring and summer weather in the Wenatchee Valley usually make surfing Granny's seem like a tropical paradise for paddlers West of the Cascades.

Eddy Service: There is no eddy service for Granny's. Most paddlers catch the eddy at the bottom of the island beside Granny's and carry their boats back up. Some people rig up a rope to pull yourself back up to the wave, this seems to be more work than just walking
Water Levels:

2800 cfs to 6500 cfs: Best between 4500cfs and 5800cfs

Gauge: Wenatchee at Monitor
Season: Spring & Summer Run-Off
Difficulty: Intermediate on up with a good roll. While Granny's is a pretty friendly spot but you have to make a ferry to get on the wave and anyone having a short ride is going to be frustrated by the walk back up to the wave.
Driving Directions: Granny's is located in Cashmere Washington. The road you will cross the river on from US 2 is Aplets Way. Take Applets Way until you get into the main part of town and turn right onto River St. when you pass Jerry's Auto Parts. Follow River St. to the first left turn and park at the small park adjacent to the railroad tracks and transformers. This is a residential area so make sure you cover yourself while changing and park appropriately. Across the street from the park, is the put-in at the mouth of the creek just past the gate next to the Cashmere Recycling Center (looks like a couple of storage units. Be aware that having good foot wear to walk down to the water in is a good idea since there is a lot of broken glass in the vicinity of the recycling center.
Closest Town: Peshastin, WA
Closest Services: Cashmere should have everything a paddler on the road should need. Check out the taco wagon a few blocks away from the put-in for Granny's between sessions. There are several bathrooms at city parks and businesses with a ten minutes walk from the hole.
Other Local Attractions if the play isn't in: Climbing at Peshastin Pinnacles or up Icicle Creek.  Mountain Bike on one of the many fine trails nearby. Creeking on Icicle or Tumwater Canyon.
Closest Camping: Free camping at undeveloped sites is available west of Leavenworth around Mile Post 90 and Chiawaukum Road off of US 2.
Local's Tips: Granny's is usually in too when the Happy Wave is good.
