Description:

The North Santiam above Detroit Lake is supposed to be home to a number of high quality waves and holes during periods of medium-high flows. There are supposed to be a number of waves and holes that some locals compare with Lake Creek at around eleven feet. Needless to say any comparison to Lake Creek suggests that there are several high quality waves and holes lurking high in this drainage.

More research is needed to figure out the quality of the play at the right water levels. There is too much buzz about the play on the Bruno Mountain Run on North Santiam for there not be some really good stuff up there at the right water levels. This run ends at the Blowout Creek Play Spot.

***This is a work in progress.

Eddy Service:

There are reportedly several features with good eddy service.

1500-2200 cfs: The waves and holes start to come to life.

7000 cfs: By this water level the run is a veritable roller coaster ride, without much play.
